Abstract

The influence of steel springs, viscous dampers and rubber pads on vibration of machine supports mounted on these springs was investigated. Experimental results for a model experiment with steel springs and rubber isolators are presented. The conditions were determined for which the support vibration of machines mounted on steel springs with or without rubber pads and viscous dampers coincides with the free support vibration. It is shown that the wave resonances in the springs influence the support vibration to a much smaller degree than the foundation vibration and energy transmission into it.
