Abstract

The rapid development of social networks has brought a huge impact on the study and life of college students. To understand its impact on college students’ learning engagement is an important way to analyze college students’ academic quality and effectively intervene with their academic development. This article explored the impact of social network addiction and loneliness and explored on learning engagement. Using college students’ social network addiction questionnaire, college student learning engagement questionnaire and loneliness scale, 521 questionnaire data from college students was analyzed, and the following conclusions were obtained:(1) Social network addiction is positively correlated with loneliness. (2) Loneliness is negatively correlated with learning engagement. (3) Social network addiction is negatively correlated with learning engagement. (4) Social network addiction has a significant positive effect on loneliness. (5) Loneliness has a significant negative impact on learning engagement. These findings give directions and suggestions on improving students’ learning engagement in social network era.
