Abstract
The effect of slipstreaming on a Le Mans ‘LM’ GTP sports racing car has been investigated using a computational lap time simulation based on new wind tunnel data. The effects of changes of the aerodynamic characteristics when slipstreaming are clearly identified and the effects of those changes have been quantified in terms of the relative performances of two cars racing in close proximity.
