Abstract

Global Manufacturing Network provides an opportunity for firms in developing country or region to join in the system of international division of labor, conduct technological learning and realize strategic upgrading. But how is the firm embedded in the GMN to acquire network resources? The paper explored the relationship between relational embeddedness and structural embeddedness and firm performance through the questionnaire survey. The paper found that the three dimensions of trust, information sharing and joint problem solving in relational embeddedness have positive effects on firm performance. And the centrality which is the indictor of structural embeddedness also has positive effects on firm performance. Some implications and limitations are discussed in the end.
