Abstract

Abstract The i.r. spectrum of 1-aminopyridinium perchlorate as a KBr disc shows evidence of the presence of strongly perturbed perchlorate groups of effective symmetry C 2 v , whereas the nujol mull spectrum is consistent with the presence of T d perchlorate ions. It is suggested that, on application of pressure, a crystal modification involving strong cation-anion interaction is produced.
