Abstract
Experimental data are reported in tensile relaxation tests on carbon black-filled natural rubber at strains up to 200%. Constitutive equations are derived for the time-dependent response of a particle-reinforced elastomer at finite strains. Adjustable parameters in the model are found by fitting observations. The effects on mechanical pre-loading and thermal recovery are analyzed on the material constants.
