Abstract

We use the extended three-layer FK model. When the upper potential is subjected to an increasing external driving force, the velocity of the upper layer potential increases gradually. We define the turning force as the maximum static friction force of the system. We study the effect of the number of particles in the middle layer on the maximum static friction force of the system. It is found that the maximum static friction force of the system increases with the increase of the number of atoms. It is also found that there is a linear relationship between the maximum static friction force and the number of atoms.
