Abstract

A new mould fabrication technique was developed to dope laser dyes, such as rhodamine B, rhodamine 6G, pyrromethene 567 and perylene orange, into TEOS/GPTMS- and GPTMS-derived organically modified silicates (ORMOSILs) to obtain solid-state dye laser media. Longitudinally pumped solid-state dye lasers were established with Q-switch Nd:YAG laser source. The influence of various coating and reflectivity of output mirror on the laser performances of rhodamine B doped in GPTMS-derived ORMOSILs were studied in such experimental setups under the pump fluency of 0.55 J/cm 2 and a pump repetition rate of 1 Hz. The mould fabrication technique was discussed in details.
