Abstract

The purpose of the work – to assess the effectiveness of knowledge mastering by thestudents who studied the discipline «Oncology and radiation medicine, including» inonline and offline modes by comparing the results of the final modular control.Materials and methods. In order to achieve the goal, the results of the final module controlof 608 students were evaluated. The comparison group was formed from 236 students whostudied and passed the final module control in the offline mode, and the main group– from 372students who studied in the online mode, but some of them took the final module control in theonline mode (first subgroup, and others in offline mode (the second subgroup). In all subgroups,a comprehensive evaluation of the results of the final module control was carried out in threecomponents: 1) test tasks (using the moodle distance learning server); 2) a practical skill in theform of a clinical problem with five answer options; 3) oral answers in 3 questions. The resultswere evaluated according to a five-point scale, the evaluations were converted into grades. The results. When comparing the results of the module control in the subgroups of thesecond group, it has been established that the percentage of grades «4» and «5» issignificantly higher when completing the module online, and the percentage of grades«2» and «3» is lower than when it is completed offline. mode A step-by-step analysis ofsuccess made it possible to establish that such a predominance is realized at the expenseof better grades when completing the test computer control and oral survey, that is, at thestages during which the student can use one more computer to search for an answer oranother student’s prompt, and the teacher is unable to control this process. Conclusions. 1. Online training must be used in individual cases, when studying theoreticalmaterial, with periodic surveys or taking intermediate modular control in offline mode.2. In order to objectively assess the level of students’ knowledge, the final module controlin the online learning mode must be conducted exclusively in the offline mode.
