Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of Naikan cognitive therapy on affective balance,perceived social support and acceptance of others in college students.Methods 40 college students were administered Naikan cognitive therapy.The students were assessed with Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90).affect balance scale (ABS),perceived social support scale(PSSS)and acceptance of others scale(AOS) before and after therapy.Resuits Compared with the students before therapy,the students after therapy had significantly higher negative affection scores of ABS(2.58±1.38 vs 4.00±0.93,t=6.38,P=0.000),total and friends support and others support factor scores of PSSS(total:57.98±12.11 vs 63.95±11.41,t=3.63,P=0.001).scores of AOS(60.18±7.28 vs 64.48±8.69,t=4.22,P=0.000).but the family support factor scores of PSSS had not changed obvi-ously.Parts of mental disorder before therapy were related with the level of varies scale.Conclusion Naikan cognitive therapy proves to be effective on negative affective,perceived social support and acceptance of others.
