Abstract

Variations in the size and shape of the anterior part of the third ventricle appear to be due mainly to pressure changes. These variations are more pronounced during pneumography or air ventriculography in which larger volumes of air are required, while they can be neglected during studies with small volumes of positive contrast medium. The chemical nature of the positive contrast medium is probably of minor importance.
