Abstract

A ceramic bush under friction is analysed with the finite element method, and a conclusion is drawn that the area around an inclusion is the chief stress area in the matrix of the bush. As the external load increases, the alternating stress around the area of the inclusion gradually becomes stronger and leads to the reduction of the fatigue wear strength of the bush.
