Abstract

In the experiment effectuated in 2008, at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, in a “Venlo” type greenhouse, the influence of fructification managing and fertilization of greenhouse cucumbers on their harvests dynamic, early and total yield as well as fruit commercial quality was studied. In case of variants for which fructification was managed only on main stem yield efficiencies of 15.5% for early yield and 24.9% for total yield were recorded in comparison with variants for which fructification was managed both on main stem and on fruit-bearing springs, placed on upper one third of pergola. Fertilization method influenced total yield, very significant positive difference of yield being obtained with root and foliar fertilization in comparison with root fertilization. Under combined influence of experimental factors, both for early and for total yield, the best results were obtained at variant for which fructification was managed only on main stem and was root and foliar fertilized.
