Abstract

The effect of Fe replacement by R ions on the properties of Ni 0.7Zn0.3 Fe 2O 4 ferrite was investigated. Rare earth ions (R = Yb, Er, Sm, Tb Gd, Dy and Ce) substitute the iron ions in a small amount, of 0.5 mol%. It is found that small substitutions of Fe ions by rare earths may favourably influence the magnetic and electrical properties of ferrite and, therefore, it is thus possible to obtain a good magnetic material for use in high frequency applications.
