Abstract
Errors occuring when measuring temperature with germanium resistance thermometers are analysed. A table listing the defined temperature scales in the temperature range considered shows that the individual scales differ by about 10 mK. Approximation equations frequently used in literature to represent analytically the resistance-temperature behaviour are discussed. Their application is stated to cause an additional inaccuracy up to 3 mK (between 1.5 and 5 K) and 5 mK (between 5 and 20 K), respectively.
