Abstract
Emulsion polymerization is a method of producing latexes with desired particle size, molecular weight, composition, morphology, film-forming properties etc. For this reason the emulsions were synthezised with different compositions of styrene and 2-ethylhexylacrilate, One of the most important characteristics of latexes from theoretical and practical point of view is viscosity. Rheological measurements often provide important interpretation for structure of latexes[Lovell, El-Aasser, 1997]. The accurate synthesis of emulsions is well described elsewhere [Koncnik, 1998]. From these latexes emulsion 2 with weight ratio styrene/2-ethylhexylacrilate 54/46 and emulsion 3 with weight ratio styrene/2-ethylhexylacrilate 64/36 were taken. The emulsions contain 48 % of polymer. The minimum film formation temperature (MFT) of emulsion 2 is 11°C and MFT of emulsion 3 is 34.4°C. The average particle size of emulsion 2 is O.21 mm and the average particle size of emulsion 3 is O.24 mm.
