Abstract

The YSZ (Yttria Stabilized Zirconia) sensor has been utilized in the measurement of CO by quantifying the interference of CO on O2 detection. The response is based on the equilibrium of the combustion reaction of CO on the surface of the electrode. The effect of the presence of CO2 on the emf was investigated and theoretical models suggested explaining the results.
