Abstract

The influence of support conditions which change during the loading process on the stability and the vibration characteristics of rectangular plates is discussed. A simplified model is used in the analysis of both perfect and initially imperfect plates. The results obtained contribute to a better understanding of the complex dynamic behavior of buckled plates and stress the need for the accurate definition of the support conditions. The work is done in the scope of the elastic stability.
