Abstract

Breaking and stabilization technology is widely applied for treatment of old Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement in China. Urban buried pipeline may be influenced by impact and vibration when old PCC slabs crashed. Energy distribution and transmission of impact wave, vibration displacement of pavement and additional vibrating stress as well as criterion for brittle Fracture of buried pipeline are calculated, taken multiple head breaker (MHB) as analysis object. The calculating results show that the amplitudes of Re wave along vertical direction are much larger than that along the horizontal direction. The displacement of old PCC slabs can be applied for evaluating the additional settlement of pavement surface induced by MHB. As an example of tested road between stations 18+500 and 20+500 in Taian city of Shandong province, based on Steverding-Lchnigk’s criterion of brittle fracture, safe buried depth to a FRP sand-filling pipeline must be deeper than 1.5m at decaying period of 0.16s and 2.0m at decaying period of 0.32s.
