Abstract

Concentrations of 0.10, 0.25, 1.50, and 5.00% sodium glycocholate were administered into digitalis plants by injection. Sodium glycocholate in the concentration of 0.25% stimulated the glycoside formation while 1.50% sodium glycocholate showed no significant effect on glycoside production and 5.00% sodium glycocholate inhibited glycoside production significantly. Sodium deoxycholate, dehydrocholate, and taurocholate each in the concentration of 0.2 5% showed no significant effect on the biosynthesis of the total glycosides.
