Abstract

The temperature dependence of internal friction, Q −1 (T) has been measured for copper and gold samples, lubricated with hydrocarbon C 14H 30 and stearic acid. The obtained Q −1 (T) spectra have been essentially different from those obtained for clean, unlubricated samples, showing some new maxima. The origin of the maxima is briefly discussed.
