Abstract
The phase relations within the system Bi 2O 3PbOrOCaOCuO including Ag has been studied with emphasis on the superconducting phases (Bi,Pb) 2Sr 2Ca 2Cu 3O 10 (2223 phase) and Bi 2Sr 2CaCu 2O 8 (2212 phase). The onset temperatures of the peritectic melting of 2223 and 2212 were observed to be decreased by about 20–30 °C when Ag is present. In addition, the solid solubility of Sr in 2212 and Pb in 2223 is affected by Ag.
