Abstract

AbstractThis chapter begins with a review of the situation in Indonesia's sugar industry and the changes that have taken place in the country's economic environment. It then turns to previous sugar-industry policies, policy reforms, and the profitability of sugar (especially within the island of Java). It concludes with a discussion on the most likely future of Indonesian sugar-trade flows.
