Abstract

This research paper examines the media practitioners’ perception of editors as leaders across North India. The study spans male and female media personnel from Union Territory of Chandigarh, states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir and evaluates their preferences with regard to their editors’ management style, i.e. if an editor prioritizes task orientation or relationship orientation. The study assesses the perception on leadership through a quantitative methodology even as it seeks to determine which management style has greater influence on the functioning of reporters and their productivity.
