Abstract

Background: The CHA2DS2-VASC score is a well-validated clinical risk tool for assessment of thromboembolic risk in patients with non–valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). Imaging abnormalities on transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) are associated with thromboembolic risk. We aim to evaluate an association between TOE abnormalities and transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) parameters that would help further stratify thromboembolic risk.
