Abstract

The increase in nuclear fusion reaction yields relative to the theoretically predictions was observed in collisions of deuterium ions at energies below 10keV with a number of metals presaturated with deuterium. In this paper, this effect is explained by focusing of trajectories during ion channeling in metal microcrystals.
