Abstract

A comparison is made between the influx of meteoric dust into the Earth's atmosphere at the equinoxes and sporadic- E activity. The meteoric characteristics use data from visual, telescopic and radar meteors and the E s activity is represented by the occurrence of ionosonde ƒ 0E s . Comparisons between temperate latitude characteristics at equinoxes for opposite hemispheres show that the E s , variations closely reflect the meteor dust influx variations.
