Abstract
Charles Perkins changed the ways other Australians thought about Aboriginal people and the way Aboriginal people perceived themselves. He was the imprimatur enabling the National Aborigines Day Observance Committee to revive the idea of Aboriginal history by modelling the new journal on The Journal of Pacific History.
