Abstract
Only through collaborative effort can nursing move forward to meet its own professional targets. Following recent adverse publicity about nursing, as reported in BJN (‘Undercover cameras show nursing in a poor light’; Vol 14(3): 129), there is an urgent need to get back to, and re-emphasize, the importance of the ward leader and the team approach.
