Abstract
Major depressive disorder is a leading cause of disability worldwide, associated with poor health, impairment, substance use disorders, mortality, disease and economic burden. We studied the case of a patient with a history of alcohol consumption and affective disorder admitted for many times in the Psychiatry Clinic I of the Clinical Hospital of Neuropsihiatry of Craiova. We had a multidisciplinary approach, based on communication and empathy, using all means for the patient’s well-being: drug treatment, psychotherapy, social reintegration. This kind of approach is always the key to success, fighting on many fronts but for a common goal: relieving the patient’s suffering.
