Abstract

The paper informs about the importance of physics courses for students of Faculty of Electrical Engineering during the first academic year. Students at technical universities generally have significantly low prior knowledge in both mathematical and physical knowledge at the beginning of their study. Students' participation in physics courses is seen as one of the factors contributing not only to enhancing knowledge of physics but also to their better orientation in the study. The standardized FCI test was used in order to analyse students' concepts at the beginning and the end of physics courses (pre and post-test). We analyse the results of testing the physics knowledge of preparatory Course of Physics and compulsory courses The Introduction to Physics and Physics I.
