Abstract

Most company programs give the new employee a quick welcome and devote the remainder of orientation to the completion of required paperwork, a brief explanation of benefits, and an assignment to a supervisor. In most cases, little to no attention is paid to the company's philosophy on unionization and the reasons for the company's position. This is a mistake for employers whose goal is to remain union‐free.
