Abstract

This article presents the most recent data on the role of fluid intake in the management of overactive bladder. Studies of the effect of volume and type of fluid intake on symptoms of overactive bladder are critically reviewed. This information is discussed in the context of the impact of fluid intake on overall health. Methods for measuring and monitoring fluid intake during the treatment of overactive bladder are also discussed. Overall recommendations are made on the indications, method, and effectiveness of fluid monitoring in overactive bladder.
