Abstract

This case study highlights the importance of leadership employed by executive management during the merger of Oyster Rock Resorts and the Point Breeze Hotel. The study investigates the global perspectives and analytical detail required for a successful merger that benefits all stakeholders primarily from a human resources perspective. Illumination of prevailing human resource related merger issues and analysis of specific operational challenges expose students to many problem-solving situations that parallel current human resource conditions in the hospitality industry.
