Abstract

Title: The importance of Internal and External Evaluation in Health Science Distance Education Postgraduate Studies Master of Science in Adolescent Health University Center of Health Sciences, University of Guadalajara, Mexico. Objective: To continuously evaluate the Master of Science in Adolescent Health, both internally and externally to achieve a good level of quality and be socially relevant. Method: The 66 students and graduates of the Master’s Degree in Adolescent and Youth Health Sciences participated in this study and the quality evaluation criteria of the national census of quality postgraduate courses were used, as well as those established in the General Postgraduate Regulation of the University of Guadalajara. Result: Almost ninety percent of the participants are women, the average age is 34 years old, the external evaluators accredited the postgraduate course, arguing that the subject is very valuable, and the terminal efficiency has been improving until reaching 82.5% in the last generation. Conclusions: It is necessary to continue evaluating the postgraduate course, because the external evaluation has allowed us to obtain more scholarships for our students and this has contributed to increase the terminal efficiency, and with the internal and external evaluation we will be able to reach greater quality and social relevance, as well as recognition at national and international level.
