Abstract

The objective of this study was to understand the following: (1) the effectiveness of block system learning to student learning outcomes. (2) the diffrences in student learning outcomes between those who use block and non-blok learning system in public vocational high schools in Batang District. This study includes a type of descriptive quantitative research with a survey approach. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The population is the whole school vocational high schools in Batang District. This research uses purposive sampling consisting of three vocational high schools. The result showed that: (1) the effectiveness of block system learning in vocational high school in Batang District can be seen of the result students that average value of expertise competency test (UKK) has meet the minimal completeness criteria (KKM) specified by the school at 75.00. In SMK Negeri 1 Warungasem, the average UKK value in the 2017/2018 academic year was 76.83, increasing to 82.32 in the 2018/2019 academic year with an increase of 5.4. Furthermore, in SMKN 1 Blado, UKK value average in the 2017/2018 school year amounted to 77.48, rising to 81.81 in the 2018/2019 school year with an increase of 4.3.(2) the comparison of student learning outcomes between the use of block and non-block system learning in the TKRO major at public vocational high schools in Batang District seen from the average UKK grades for the 2018/2019 school year that the use of block system learning is superior to non-block system learning.
