Abstract
Ambient light sensors are present in many mid and top tier smart devices in order to give to the user good contrast and color representation. As newer sensors get better resolution it is possible to clearly identify patterns in the light sensor data stream originating from light sources that the user is interacting with. This paper presents the implementation of the software components for a system that receives the ambient light sensor data from a mobile Android Smartphone, saves it to a database and analyses it in order to detect a reference pattern. The pattern is produced by a video stream that is rendered by a display.
