Abstract

Purpose: Neonatal-perinatal fellows recertify for Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) every 2 years. It has been shown that cognitive knowledge and technical skills are retained for 6-12 months after recertification. If not practiced regularly, NRP skills are not developed and diminish over time. Deviations from NRP algorithm can lead to poor patient outcomes. Studies have shown repetitive simulation sessions can improve and maintain NRP performance. At our institution there is no simulation curriculum for neonatal-perinatal fellows.
