Abstract

Wall material is an important factor to define inside comfortable rooms and building energy consumption for air conditioning (AC). Controlling inside room temperature methods were used to analyze the energy costs for the ACs. The proposed study is to find out the impact of materials on inside room temperature and energy cost for ACs. A simulation study illustrates the effect of wall materials to define inside room temperature. In this research, an innovative material was built from mixed materials (such as: Styrofoam, soil and cement). The characteristics of material relates to heat transfer coefficient (Q), thermal conductivity (k) and output temperature (T2). Two kinds of steps were conducted to achieve this goal., Firstly, a simulation process was applied to define the temperature output of the innovative material. Secondly, energy costs were calculated based on the characteristics of this material under a simulation process. The results of research indicated that Q, k and T2 of an innovative wall material is effective in reducing energy cost for ACs.
