Abstract

Background and Objective: Research has demonstrated that a Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) improves glycemic control, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and reduces the incidence of major cardiovascular events in type 2 diabetes (T2DM). The objective was to assess the impact of usual nutrition intervention from a registered dietitian (RD) on changes in patients' Mediterranean Diet Adherence Screener (MEDAS) component answers and score.
