Abstract

Listening is a very complicated process in which several different knowledge and skills work together simultaneously. The aim of the present study is to investigate empirically the impact of using Tablets on listening skill & Perception on Iraqi EFL pupils ’. Tablets contains features such as recording and playback of audio and video clips, download applications and other specifcations with a portable carrying device due to its light weight and size. The present study is limited to the fourth-grade male and female pupils in the primary schools in Baghdad City for the academic year 2017–2018. The sample of the study includes 40 pupils as the experimental group and 40 as the control group. Then, it is ensured that the two groups are equal through a statistical analysis of a number of variables such as age, parents education, achievement scores in English in the mid-year examination. After administrating the posttest, the results of the study indicated clearly that the achievements of the experimental group who has been exposed to Tablets higher than that of the control group who has been exposed to the traditional method recommended in the prescribed textbook.
