Abstract
The objective of this paper is to estimate parameters which are used to estimate the trade balance in the European Union's (EU) Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). It is a fact, that the currently applied trade balance equation, which does not consider price support system (PSS) applied to producers in the EU's CAP, prevents correct estimation of the trade balance. In this paper, the currently used trade balance equation is first considered in calculating the trade balance for the EU producers. The mentioned equation, which is questioned and replaced with a new equation with new parameters adopted by the author, should be considered for a correct estimation of the trade balance. This new equation is used to estimate the trade balance for CAP products which are supported with tariff and non-tariff measures.
