Abstract
Providing acceptable multimedia Quality of Experience (QoE) to mobile end users is an ultimate goal for any service and network provider in order to avoid churn and promote business growth. QoE is envisaged to be a critical element in the design of the next generation of mobile networks such as in 5G. In cellular networks, the Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) has been widely used for handover mechanism in Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks and therefore, this paper presents the impact of the RSRP on the Quality of Experience (QoE) in video streaming over LTE networks. Through simulation and subjective tests on 35 participants, relationship between RSRP and QoE was investigated for different video content types and from the empirical results, the mapping table between RSRP and QoE was created.
