Abstract

Industrial integration is an effective way to promote economic growth in the era of digital economy and an important part of the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. In the context of the vigorous development of the digital economy, this paper uses the principal component analysis method to construct the digital economy development index system and the coupled coordination degree model to measure the integration level of the manufacturing industry and logistics industry, and empirically analyzes the impact of the digital economy on the integration and development of the manufacturing industry and logistics industry by using the panel data of 30 provinces (municipalities and districts) in China from 2013 to 2020. It is found that the digital economy significantly promotes the integration level of manufacturing and logistics. The digital economy can promote the integrated development of manufacturing and logistics through both enterprise technology innovation and a digital platform. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the digital economy has a significant promotion effect on the eastern region and western region, with the western region > the eastern region.
