Abstract

Since 2004, the Algerian universities education system is changing rapidly to meet the needs of internationalisation and globalisation. The Bologna meeting which has been instituted in 1999 with the objective of transforming the whole university system of European countries members to run a similar university programmes and issue Bachelor (BA), Master (MA) and Doctorate degrees of the same value, (widely known as ‘The Credit Transfer Accumulation System’ ECTS in Europe or LMD for France and the French-speaking countries such as Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria) is having an important impact on Algerian degrees. For clarity reasons this last abbreviation ‘LMD’(L= licence equivalent of the Bachelor degree, M = Master and D = Doctorate or PhD), will be used in this article.
