The impact of spousal violence on children: Empirical study

Abstract

Family violence is a traumatic social phenomenon where family members, including women, children and the elderly, are subjected to multiple forms of violence within their intimate environment, which include physical, psychological and sexual assaults, as well as neglect and psychological abuse, which can result in serious psychological and physical effects. This study aimed to understand the impact of spousal violence on children, where the descriptive approach was used by conducting a sociological survey on a sample of 90 individuals. The results of the study showed that violence between parents consists of yelling at Children and may reach physical abuse, which results in children feeling afraid and the appearance of psychological problems. The results also showed that there were no significant differences in the negative effects of parental violence on children, which is due to the sex factor and the level of morale in the study sample (coefficient equal to 0.361).
