The Impact of Smart Libraries in Enhancing the Sustainable Development Practices

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of smart libraries in promoting sustainable development practices in the Middle East by studying the advantages and disadvantages of smart libraries and the most important factors affecting the establishment of smart libraries and their impact on sustainable development. The researchers collected the opinions of 295 respondents in University of Mosul about the impact of traditional and smart libraries on sustainable development practices and the influence of technical, educational, political, and economic factors on the establishment of smart libraries in the Middle East by questionnaires and analyzing them statistically by SPSS. The researchers concluded that all the responds agreed at high level on the role of smart libraries in enhancing the sustainable development practices, and they recommended to encourage the establishment of smart libraries by enhancing the positive aspects of the factors affecting the establishment of smart libraries and reducing their negative aspects.
