Abstract

This study finds that judgments about the effectiveness of community mental health center directors are affected by the roles that the judges have in relation to the centers. CMHC executives were found to be very similar to their clinical colleagues and different from governing board members in the importance they placed on those things that characterize the effective CMHC administrator.
