Abstract

Entrepreneurial motivation of farmers in growing entrepreneurial intentions for farmers in increasing agricultural productivity and business sustainability is an important variable in agribusiness development in the Indonesia-Malaysia border region. This study aims to determine 1) the influence and relationship between entrepreneurial attitudes, subjective norms and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial motivation, 2) the influence of entrepreneurial motivation on entrepreneurial intentions. The population in this study were farmers in five sub-districts in the border area of Sebatik Island with a total sample of 250 farmers determined by purposive sampling method. Testing the data analysis model developed in the study used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) assisted by the AMOS program. The results show that the overall model built in this study meets the model fit norms, which means that the model developed in this study is in accordance with existing empirical conditions. There is a significant influence and relationship between entrepreneurial attitudes, subjective norms, and self-efficacy on entrepreneurial motivation and entrepreneurial motivation has a significant and positive effect on farmers' entrepreneurial intentions on Sebatik Island, the Indonesia-Malaysia border region.”
