Abstract

The employee innovative work behavior (EIWB) among organizations plays the key role in endorsing the organization goals. The current study is describe the level of employee innovative work behavior among FM service providers in Oman and the impact of leadership on employee innovative work behavior before and after the inclusion of an employee motivation as mediator. It focus on mid-level managers, engineers and supervisors of FM service providers in Oman. The population is around 20,000. The author employed a questionnaire that utilized a set of questions which measure leadership, employees’ motivation and employee innovative work behavior. The responses of 320 employees from four FM service providers. The regression analysis identified employees’ motivation partially mediate the relationship among leadership and employees innovative work behavior. Additionally, the mean values show that the level of employee innovative work behavior among employees are moderately high. The results of this study suggest that leadership, being a powerful motivational tool to depict innovative work. The current paper provides a glimpse of employees innovative work behavior improvement resulted from leadership and their motivation towards their career and organization. The implications and limitations of the study are further discussed.
